I love the tag line for
Lucas Frank 'Leisurewear for Little Gentlemen' is really sums up the range in just one sentence.
I can sum up the
Hooded Top in one word - quality! Above my normal price range at an RRP of £39 but you can see why when you receive the item.

The weight of the material is completely different to items you would buy in, for instance, Supermarket or Highstreet clothing ranges and the buttons are chunky and hard wearing. Every stitch is perfect with no loose threads or uneven finishes and you really are getting what you pay for in my opinion. I love the embroidered lighthouse motif and as this particular item comes in ages 18 months to 10 years, I could imagine my 10 year old wearing it as happily as Tala has, mainly due to the fact that is is a timeless and ageless design and will not date or go out of fashion. It is one of those items you know a child will grow out of not wear out.

If I had one criticism to make about the Lucas Frank hoody is would be that the size is generous (is that really a complaint when you get more wear out of it?!) We had the 18 months to 2 years (Tala is 15 months) and I had to roll the sleeves up twice and it was slightly longer than I would normally buy but I must bear in mind it is to fit a child up to the age of 2 and I do think it would do just that.
The material was slightly stretchy which was great as it was easy to put my hand up the sleeve to pull down the sleeves on the top Tala was wearing underneath without any trouble. The hood was well designed and can be adjusted with cotton pulls to make smaller if required. I love the quilted elbows on the hoody and again it is this attention to detail that makes the range stand out from perhaps lower priced comparatives.

If the rest of the
Lucas Frank range is as good as this then I would make it a first port of call if you are looking for good quality, higher end, 'Leisurewear for Little Gentlemen'
